Basic structure of permanent magnet motor

A permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is a motor that uses permanent magnet materials and is excited by a magnetic field generated by permanent magnets. It is mainly composed of a stator, rotor, casing, front and rear end covers, and bearings.

Structural characteristics of permanent magnet synchronous motors:

★ The structural form of a permanent magnet synchronous motor is basically the same as that of an ordinary asynchronous motor, the main difference being in the rotor.

★ The rotor surface (SPM) or interior (IPM) has pre-magnetized permanent magnet materials that provide the necessary air gap magnetic field for the motor.

★ Advantages: Effectively reduces motor size, reduces losses, and improves efficiency.
